Description

Rivercote is a late 18th-century house with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick on a rendered plinth, with rendered quoins and a parapet. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house is two storeys high, featuring rusticated angle quoins and end stacks. The parapets have angle acroteria, with scroll finials in the centre. The front elevation has three 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, each within an architrave surround, and retains its original glazing bars. Below, there are two windows on the ground floor, each with a hood supported by scroll brackets and palmette finials. A half-glazed door is positioned to the right, approached by four steps, and is set within a Doric pier portico with a flat roof. The windows have coloured margin lights. A later 20th-century panelled door with a stilted arch fanlight is located to the right.
