Description
The railings and garden walls at No. 106 French Street in Sunbury-on-Thames date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They consist of red and brown brick walls topped with stone, accompanied by wrought iron railings. The plinth walls are approximately 4 feet high, with railings positioned above them. Square stone-coped piers, matching the height of the railings, flank a small gate, while the wall rises to the right end. There is a central gate featuring an ogee over-throw with a central circlet. Urn finials are present on the railings to the left of the gate, with two more to the right. The wall extends to the left and rises to a 20th-century gate, continuing as a buttressed garden wall on the other side of the gate, before returning parallel to the house to enclose the garden.
