Description
The premises of M. Womack is a house that has been converted into a shop with a flat above. It dates from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of cement-rendered brick and has a 20th-century cement-tile roof. It stands three storeys high and has three bays.
The ground floor features a modern shop front that spans the entire width of the building. On the first floor, there is a central segmentally-arched recess that contains a sash window with glazing bars, which is set on a projecting sill with shaped blocks, and is framed by a flush wooden architrave and cornice. The outer bays have matching sills supporting tripartite sashes with 4:12:4 panes, which are topped by plain friezes and cornices.
On the second floor, there are 6-pane sashes with projecting sills in flush wooden architraves, although the first bay now has a casement window. The building features a moulded eaves band and a blocking course. The roof is hipped, with brick stacks at both ends and a ridge stack located to the left of centre.
