Description

This is a milepost located approximately 350 metres west of Thurgoland Bridge, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a hollow-backed, triangle-sectioned design. Each face of the post has a sloping surface with raised lettering. The left face reads "SHEFFIELD/11/MILES," while the right face states "PENISTON/(2)/MILES."
