Description

Thurgoland Bridge is a bridge built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed from deeply-coursed tooled sandstone, except for the west end, which features rock-faced stone. The bridge has one segmental arch supported by square piers, with similar piers at each end. There is a band at the base of the parapet, which has triangular coping raised over the piers. The bridge spans the River Don and is partly located in the parish of Hunshelf.
