Description
This barn, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 5 metres north of the Lodge in Langsett. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and features four internal bays along with a rear outshut. The barn has a plinth and quoins, and to the left, there is a tall, square-headed cart entrance with a quoined surround and an oak lintel. There are six regularly-placed ventilation slits with round-arched heads. At the rear, there is an opposed square-headed cart entry set back slightly in the third bay, a smaller quoined entry in the first bay, and a later entrance in the fourth bay. The right return has a large high-level opening with a quoined surround, and ventilation slits are present as before. Inside, the barn features three open trusses with struts on arcade posts.
