Description

55 and 57 Jebb Lane are a pair of cottages built in the early to mid 18th century, with some alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed from coursed squared stone and feature quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high, with each having one bay. There are two central doorways that have deep lintels and straight dripmoulds with small square stops; the doorway on the right may be later or restored. The cottages have three-light double-chamfered windows, although the left window on the ground floor has been replaced by a large fixed light. The right ground-floor window retains its dripmould. The gables are adorned with copings on moulded kneelers, and there are rendered end stacks. The rear of the cottages has been mainly altered, featuring a lean-to addition and a stone porch on the right. Two three-light windows remain at the first-floor level, and the left gable is rendered.
