Description

This is a former mill building, now used for agricultural purposes, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of deeply coursed stone, with a stone slate roof. The building is three storeys high and has a three-bay front. A large, quoined doorway is centrally positioned on the first floor, accessed by a small, later flight of stone steps. The windows are two-light, with broad surrounds and slightly recessed mullions; one is partially obscured by the first-floor staircase. A single-light window is located on the second floor to the left. Several windows have been blocked. The rear of the building has been altered but retains a blocked central first-floor doorway. A small lean-to addition sits to the left return, featuring a segmental-headed entrance on the right side. Two-light windows, matching those on the front, are present on the first and second floors of the lean-to. An addition set at 90 degrees to the right return is not considered of significant architectural interest, and the gable above this addition has been patched with brickwork.
