Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres west of Royd Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn likely has five internal bays and includes quoins. The front has a central square-headed recessed cart entry with an outshut on each side. At the rear, there is an opposing square-headed cart entry with a raised roof. A 19th-century barn is attached to the right gable, but it is not included in this listing. There are two entrances on the left gable. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is believed to be aisled at the front and possibly at the rear as well. The floor is said to be on two levels due to the sloping ground.
