Description
This is an L-shaped range of barns located immediately north of Royd Moor Farmhouse, with the barn dated 1785 and the stable built slightly later. The structure is made of coursed, squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a tall segmental-headed cart entrance on the left, which includes a keystone marked 'J H 1785' and a quoined surround. To the right, there are two lower segmental-arched cart sheds with a common central jamb and a two-light window above. The stable range, which projects to the left, has three entrances with deep lintels and quoined surrounds, two of which are part-blocked, along with two small later openings at a high level. The rear of the stable range contains square pitching holes. At the back of the barn, there is a tall opposing cart entry and ventilation slits.
