Description
This barn, located approximately 5 metres to the east of Nos 47, 49, and 53 (Lower Spark Farmhouse), dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations and additions in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of four bays, with an outshut on the right bay. The third bay includes a chamfered quoined cambered-arched cart-entry, complete with springers and voussoirs. There is a 19th-century doorway at the left end and another in the outshut. At the rear, there is a lower opposing cart-entry, with rubble brought to course on the left side and coursed squared stone on the right and above, suggesting that the roof has been raised. Inside, the barn features queen-post roof trusses.
