Description

SOWERBY BRIDGE SPARK HOUSE LANE SE 0623-0723 (north side), Norland 13/237 Barn approx 5 metres 15.11.66 to east of Nos 47, 49 and 53 (Lower Spark Farmhouse) (formerly listed as Barn adjacent to Lower Spark House) GV II Barn. Late C17 with C19 alterations and additions. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. 4 bays, outshut to right bay. Bay 3 has chamfered quoined cambered-arched cart-entry with springers and voussoirs. C19 doorway to left end and to outshut. Rear: lower opposing cart-entry with rubble brought to course on its left and coursed squared stone to its right and above probably indicating that the roof has been raised. Interior: queen-post roof trusses.
