Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres north of Royds Hall, is likely from the 17th century. It features a timber frame that has been later covered with handmade brick and has a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with five bays, and the wall-posts are exposed on both sides. At the south end, there is a gable truss. The centre of the barn has square-headed wagon doors, with the door on the east side being partly blocked. An altered stable range attached to the right-hand end of this side is not included in this listing.
Inside, the barn contains four post and truss frames with arch-bracing to the tie-beams, king-post trusses with longitudinal bracing to the ridge, and two pairs of trenched purlins.
