Description
No. 420 is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a rendered front and features a roof that is partly stone slate and partly tiled. The building has a symmetrical three-bay front with twin gabled wings at the rear and stands two storeys high. The central doorway is adorned with an ornamental lintel. The front includes double-chamfered windows, featuring a 5-light window to the left (the right window was not visible during the survey in 1987), two 4-light windows on the first floor, and a central 2-light window. The gable copings are hollow-chamfered and rest on moulded kneelers, and there is a central stack. The rear wings each retain the remains of a double-chamfered window at the first-floor level, with a 2-light window in the left wing and a 3-light window in the right wing. Some other remains of 17th-century openings are present, while other openings are likely from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
