98 And 100, Heworth Green

98 and 100 Heworth Green are a mirrored pair of houses built around 1840. They are constructed of brick with painted stucco and timber dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys above a semi-basement and each has two bays. The windows are sash style without glazing bars, featuring rusticated stucco lintels with false keystones, except for the cellar window of No. 100 on the left, which has glazing bars. No. 100 also includes a cellar doorway on the right. The doorways are located on the outer sides of the façades and are accessed by external stone steps. Each doorway has a six-panel door with a rectangular overlight; the overlight for No. 100 has diagonal glazing bars. The doorcases are adorned with engaged Doric columns, triglyph friezes, and cornices. There are chimneys located between the houses, both in front of and behind the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
