Milepost opposite Fairfield Manor is a mid 19th century cast iron structure. It has a triangular shape with a sloping upper face. The left side features an attached semicircular plaque that indicates a distance of 3 miles to York, while the right side has a similar plaque showing a distance of 10 miles to Easingwold. The sloping upper face displays the distance to London, which is 199 miles.
