Description
Juliet Reckitt Havens is a group of old people's homes built in 1911 by architects Runton & Barry. The building features brick construction with decorative timber framing and rendered nogging, topped by a plain tile roof with two external gables and six ridge stacks. It is a single-storey structure arranged in an L-shape with an angled corner. The windows are 4-light wooden casements with leaded glazing. The doorways have wooden surrounds with cambered bressumers. In the center, there is a larger doorway beneath a framed gable, flanked by two 2-light windows and two doors. On either side of this central section, there are windows, followed by alternating doors and windows. The smaller doorways include a single 2-light window and a door. This building is part of a series of old people's homes established by the Reckitt family, which are associated with the nearby Garden Village.
