Description
11 and 12 The Oval are a pair of houses built between 1907 and 1908 by Runton & Barry for the Garden Village (Hull) Ltd. They are constructed of brick with a pebbledashed finish and feature plain tile roofs, along with two rear wall stacks and a single ridge stack. The houses are two storeys high and consist of four bays. The windows are wooden-framed casements with leaded glazing. In the center, there are two projecting gables, each featuring a canted two-storey bay window with a five-light window on both floors. The ground-floor windows are larger and have transoms. To the right of the central entrance, which is a round-arched door with a late 20th-century addition, there is a small two-light window. This building is part of a group designed by Runton & Barry for the initial phase of the Garden Village development.
