Description

A pair of houses built in 1909 by Runton & Barry for the Garden Village (Hull) Ltd. The houses are constructed from brick, rendered and colourwashed, with decorative timber framing and rendered infill on the front gables. They have plain tile roofs with two rear wall stacks and a single ridge stack.

The houses are two storeys and have a four-window front. The windows are mainly wood mullioned casements with glazing bars. A pair of projecting gables dominate the centre of the facade, with timber framing on the first floor and square oriel windows with three lights resting on shaped brackets. Below these oriels is a canted, flat-roofed wooden bay window with three cross casements. To either side, a catslide roof covers a box dormer with three lights. A corner porch with round-arched brick openings to the front and side leads to the left-hand doorway, which has a late 20th-century glazed screen.

These buildings form part of the early phase of the Garden Village development.
