Description

A pair of houses built in 1909 by Runton & Barry for the Garden Village (Hull) Ltd. They are part of the first phase of development at the Garden Village. The houses are constructed from brick with pebbledashed surfaces, a plain tile roof, tile hanging to the gables, and two rear wall stacks and one ridge stack. The design is two storeys and four bays. Most windows are wooden casements with leaded glazing. The central section features projecting gables, each with a square wooden four-light oriel window. Below these, a canted wooden bay window with transomed lights is positioned. A canted, flat-roofed porch with a dentillated cornice, supported by two wooden Tuscan columns with pedestals, is located in the return angle. The porch has a half-glazed door flanked by a single-light window, with a matching window above. Return gables each contain a square wooden four-light oriel window and, below, a larger transomed four-light window.
