Description
No. 32 Westgate is a house dating from the early 18th century, with a later parallel range added to the rear. It features a red brick exterior that has been colourwashed at the front, topped with a pantiled roof. The building stands two storeys high and has a balanced three-bay elevation. The entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath an oblong fanlight with glazing bars, set within a pilastered doorcase that has a bracketed cornice. To the right of the door is a 20th-century double sash window, while there are canted bay windows on both the left and right, each with 16-pane sashes and side windows that also have glazing bars. The left bay includes louvred shutters. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sashes with louvred shutters throughout. The house is finished with a dentilled brick eaves cornice, end stacks, and tumbled-in brickwork on the raised gables of the double-span roof.
