Description
The Pike and Heron Public House is a public house built around 1830. It is constructed of brick, rendered and stuccoed, with a slate roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands three storeys tall with three bays. The ground floor features a rusticated stucco finish, with a 20th-century sliding door set within a Doric pilastered doorcase. To the left, there is a tripartite sash window with a sill and glazing bars, while to the right are two 16-pane sash windows, all positioned under wedge lintels that have projecting vermiculated keyblocks.
On the first floor, there is a band and rusticated rock-faced quoins leading to the upper storeys. This floor has three 16-pane sash windows, all under wedge lintels with projecting vermiculated keyblocks. The second floor includes a small 4-pane sash window to the left and three 8-pane sash windows, all with sills and under wedge lintels featuring projecting rock-faced keyblocks. The building has end and axial stacks, with plain close verges to the gables resting on kneelers.
