Description

This is a 19th-century mounting block with an attached mile-post located on the north side of Westgate in North Cave. The mounting block is made of stone and stands approximately 0.75 metres high, featuring two steps. A round-headed metal plaque is bolted onto the upper step, indicating the distances to Howden (10 miles) and Hull (15 miles).
