Description
No. 52 Park Road is part of a terrace of five houses built in 1895 by Grayson and Ould. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings, features a plaster first floor, and has a tiled roof. It is one storey with an attic and consists of four bays. The first bay projects forward under a gable, while the end bay is recessed by one bay under another gable.
The ground floor has a lintel band and a brick cornice, with windows that mostly consist of four-light designs; the third bay features two pairs of two-light windows. The first floor showcases hollow-chamfered-mullioned windows with brick mullions and decorative heads above the lights. The first bay includes a five-light window, while the end bay has four five-light windows, with the end lights being blind and the others transomed. The second bay features a three-light gabled dormer with a quoined apron, and the third bay has a large gabled dormer with an eight-light window that includes two central blind lights and four blind lights above, also with a quoined apron.
The entrances are framed by stone surrounds and pediments, with doors that have vertical strips and top leaded lights. The right return has a panelled gable with a three-light window at the right end, and the return to the fourth bay includes a three-light hipped oriel and a lateral stack. The building has two cross-axial stacks, and the rear features paired dormers and privies.
