Description

Nos. 40 to 43 Greendale Road are four houses built in 1901 by Grayson and Ould. The buildings are constructed of brick with a roughcast first floor and feature a tiled roof. They are two storeys high and consist of six bays, with the second and fifth bays projecting under pedimented gables. The central bays break forward under hipped gables. There is a timber band and drip mould over the ground floor, along with a top cornice.

The windows have gauged-brick flat arches and keys, with small-paned casements. The ground floor features four-light windows, while the end bays have paired lights. The first floor includes four-light canted oriels with ogival bases and paired central bull's eyes in the central bays, and the second and fifth bays have three-light windows. The entrances also have gauged-brick flat arches, overlights, and doors with small-paned lights. There are two cross-axial stacks. The returns have pargetted panels with a cartouche and foliage; on the left, it reads "1900" and on the right, "LB/LTD". The rear of the houses is similar and includes privies.
