Description

The Residents' Club and numbers 21 and 22 are a girls' social club, now serving as a residents' club, along with two houses, built in 1913 by J. Lomax Simpson. The building features roughcast with stone dressings, some brick, and timber-framing, topped with tile roofs. The club, located at the street corner, is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays, while the houses also have two storeys and three bays facing the street.

The club has a stone base, a cornice, and stone-coped gables, with stone quoins. The second and third bays project at both the ground and first floors, featuring gabled attic bays. The first bay has a projecting ground floor and a gabled timber-framed first floor. The second and third bays include two-storey continuous four-light canted bay windows with double-chamfered mullions and transoms, as well as leaded glazing and parapets. The first bay has a three-light casement window, while the attic contains a three-light mullioned window with drip moulds.

The central entrance features an elliptical head and a band with a Tudor flower above, along with a panel that has effaced lettering reading "GIRLS'/CLUB," a ribband, and the date. There are entrances to the first bay and to the front of a projecting return, which has a flat canopy. The return includes a two-storey canted bay with three-light windows and a two-light attic window.

The houses have a brick base and a swept hipped roof, with leaded casements, most of which are four lights. There is a central canted bay window with a battered base and a projecting window with chamfered corners to the panel below on the first floor. The building has three stacks, and the rear features a projection to the hall.
