Description

Numbers 2 and 4 are a pair of houses built in 1902 by Grayson and Ould, located in Port Sunlight. The houses feature roughcast walls with a brick and tile roof, standing two storeys tall and comprising three bays. The first two bays project under paired asymmetrical gables, with a small hipped re-entrant block to the right. The ground floor has a brick base and quoins, with small-paned casement windows. The first two bays have four-light canted bay windows with parapets, while the end bay has a three-light window. On the first floor, there are three-light windows, with the end bay featuring a timbered gabled half-dormer. The entrances are adorned with flat canopies and small-paned lights. There is a cross-axial stack and a projecting gable-end stack on the right return, along with a decorative rainwater head. The rear of the houses is similar, with dormers and privies. Flanking the houses are brick screen walls from the 1920s, which have end buttresses and central shell niches with raised coping above.
