Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Boundary Road in Port Sunlight, built around 1905 by Grayson and Ould. The houses have a roughcast finish on a brick base, with tile hanging on the first floor and fishscale bands. They have a tile roof. The buildings are one storey with an attic, arranged over eight bays, with the second and third bays, and the sixth and seventh bays projecting slightly forward under gabled roofs. The tile hanging sweeps out at the base and continues as canopies over the porches. The windows are leaded casements with cornices; the ground floor windows have two lights, while those in the projecting bays have three lights on the ground floor and in the first floor. The entrances have half-glazed doors with small panes. Two chimney stacks run across the front of the buildings, topped with brick; the stack on the left return is part of the adjacent house at number 35. The rear elevation is similarly constructed, featuring pebbledash, dormers, and privies.
