Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Brook Street are two houses built in 1906 by Grayson and Ould. They feature a pebbledash exterior on a brick base, with the first floor being tile-hung and decorated with bands. The buildings are two storeys tall and consist of four bays. The windows are leaded casements, and there are central two-storey canted bay windows, with the ground floor bay having five sections and the first floor bay having three lights, topped with timber-framed gables that have coving. Other first floor windows consist of two lights and are fitted with plank shutters that have strap hinges and pierced hearts. The entrances are sheltered by canopies that extend from the tile-hanging. The doors include two leaded lights and flanking lights. The houses have a cruciform stack and return slope stacks with brick caps. The returns feature rear projections, and the rear side is roughcast with small-paned casements.
