Description
Nos. 55 and 57 Primrose Hill are part of a terrace of six houses built in 1925 by J. Lomax Simpson. The houses are constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof. They are two storeys high, with a six-bay centre that has two bays at each end that are canted forward. The three-bay returns face Greendale Road and Primrose Hill. There is a tile course above the ground floor, and the gables are pedimented with stone kneelers. The windows feature three-light leaded casements, with single lights in the end bays of the first floors. The entrances consist of small-paned half-glazed doors; one has a flat canopy, while two others are adorned with shell hoods. The first bay includes a lateral stack on a rectangular base with stone weathering. The left return has three gabled bays, with the first two projecting and featuring paired canopied entrances. The right return's first bay is gabled and has a projecting stack. There are three additional stacks, and the rear of the building is similar, with small-paned casements and tripartite sashes.
