Description

Numbers 10 to 14 and Screen Wall comprise a terrace of five houses built in 1925 by J. Lomax Simpson as part of the Port Sunlight model village. The houses are constructed of plaster on a brick base, with hipped tile roofs. They are two storeys high and five bays wide, with three central bays projecting and having jettied gables supported by brackets. The ground floor of the central bays is brick and features a drip mould. The ground floor has 4-light canted bay windows to the central bays, and 2-light windows of 3 panes to each outer bay. The first floor has 4-light windows to the central bays and 2-light windows of 3 panes to each outer bay. The entrances have tile canopies and half-glazed doors with small-paned lights, with two entrances to the returns of the centre bays. There are three cross-axial stacks. The rear elevation is similar, with plastered first floor. A brick screen wall to the left features end piers, a central shell niche, and raised coping.
