Description

A terrace of four houses at 16-22 Pool Bank, Port Sunlight, was built in 1907 by Grayson and Ould. The houses have a pebbledash finish on a brick base, topped with a tile gambrel roof featuring fishscale bands. They are one storey high with an attic, arranged over six bays. The end bays are gabled and have brick coping. The ground-floor windows have gauged-brick flat arches and are sash windows with glazing bars; the end windows are keyed round. The first floor has windows arranged with a 4:2:3:3:2:4-light pattern. The central entrances are paired and have tile canopies that sweep out from the roof. The doors have small-paned lights. Two stacks run across the building’s axis. Decorative rainwater heads are present. Return entrances are also provided. The rear elevation is similar in design.
