Description
This house dates from 1895 and was designed by Grayson and Ould as part of the Port Sunlight village. It is timber-framed with a brick base and a tile roof. The house is two storeys and three bays wide. The first and second bays feature a jettied first floor and gable. Decorative panels adorn the first-floor areas, and the bressumer and bargeboards are also decorated. The windows are leaded casements; the ground floor windows are of two lights, except for a three-light window in the third bay. The first floor has two-light windows in the first two bays. On the left return is a projecting two-storey porch topped with a shingled, swept broach spirelet and a button finial. A hollow-chamfered mullioned window of two lights and small two-light windows are located on the ground and first floors of the return. The entrance is sheltered by a shingle canopy with a stone surround and a door featuring vertical strips and a top panel that may have originally been leaded. A chimney stack is located centrally on the first bay. The rear of the house is similar in design and includes privies.
