Description
This building, known as 55-59 Corniche Road, consists of three houses constructed in 1898 by the architects Grayson and Ould. The houses are built with plaster on a brick base and feature a tile half-hipped roof. They are one storey high with an attic and have three bays.
The ground floor has a tile canopy and includes three-light gabled rectangular oriel windows with three-light leaded casements, flanked by smaller windows. The first floor features gabled dormers with tile-hung gables and tile canopies over three-light leaded casements. The entrances are adorned with hipped canopies that extend from the ground floor, and the corners are accentuated with brick quoins, with two quoins on the returns. There are two cross-axial stacks. The rear of the building is similar to the front, with dormers and privies.
