Description

This is a terrace of four houses located at 9-15 Wood Street, Port Sunlight, and dated 1892. The houses are built with timber framing on a stone base, featuring a central stone ground floor and tile roofs. Brick stacks are a prominent feature. The two-storey terrace is four bays wide, with the end bays projecting under the gables and featuring jettied first floors. The base of the building is weathered, and some decorative timbering is present. The windows consist of four-light casements; the central ground floor windows have four lights with single-chamfered mullions. Lean-to porches on the inner returns contain round-arched openings and plank doors. A cross-axial stack is present, along with return lateral stacks featuring diagonal shafts rising above the gabled stone projections. The rear elevation is similar in design and includes privies.
