Description
Sally's Lane Cottage and 36 St Cuthberts Road are likely remnants of a former farmhouse, now serving as a pair of houses. They probably date from the late 17th century or early 18th century and have been altered and extended over time. The buildings are constructed of brick, with No. 36 rendered and painted white, and feature thatched roofs at two slightly different levels, hipped at the west end.
The exterior is single storey with a layout that includes three windows on Sally's Lane Cottage and two on No. 36. The doorway for Sally's Lane Cottage is located near the left end, accompanied by a small two-light window to the left and a 20th-century bay window to the right. No. 36 has its window at the right-hand end, along with two three-light sliding sash windows. There are two small square chimneys on the ridge and another at the right-hand gable. The interior has not been inspected.
