Description
The churchyard wall to the Church of St Cuthbert is a structure likely built in the early 18th century. It is primarily made of hand-made brick arranged in English garden wall bond, with a section on the west side constructed from random boulders. The wall features chamfered sandstone coping and extends eastward from the lych gate in a straight line for approximately 60 meters. To the west of the lych gate, it curves around the south-west corner of the churchyard and then runs north to a point near the north-west corner of the tower. The wall stands about 1.5 meters high and is part of a group that includes the Church of St Cuthbert and the stocks located close to its west side.
