Description
The boundary wall and gateways to the Old Christ Church churchyard, located on Waterloo Road in Crosby, date from around 1891 to 1899 and are likely designed by H.J. Austin of Austin and Paley. The wall, made of snecked red sandstone, surrounds the north and west sides of the churchyard and features chamfered and moulded coping. It stands approximately 1 metre high and ramps up to broad gate piers at the north and south ends of the west side and at the east end of the north side. These gate piers are adorned with traceried panels and have curved tops. The entrances are fitted with pairs of wrought-iron gates that have swept top rails and traceried top panels. This structure is included for its group value with the Old Christ Church.
