Description
Ennis Cottage is a pair of Regency cottages located on Waterloo Road, built in the early 19th century and altered over time. The cottages are constructed of painted stucco and feature a hipped slate roof. They have a double-depth plan, with each cottage being single-fronted and built with adjoining halls, along with a back extension. The buildings are two low storeys high and have a symmetrical facade with two windows on the left and two on the right. Notable architectural details include panelled pilasters and a Greek key frieze between the floors. The doorways have panelled doors and fanlights beneath a trellis porch, with blind windows situated above. Each cottage has 12-pane hornless sashed windows on both floors, although No.58A has louvred external shutters. The eaves are oversailing and boarded. The rear and interior of the cottages have not been inspected. Ennis Cottage forms a group with Nos. 52 and 54 to the right.
