Description

White Cottage is an 18th-century house with later additions, located on the west side of Gores Lane, Formby. It is constructed of limewashed brick with a thatched roof. The original part of the house is a one-story, three-bay structure with an attic, and it has a one-bay extension to the left return and a rear outshut. The roof has slate coped gables. The ground-floor windows are mostly three-light, horizontally-sliding sashes, with one window of two lights to the eyebrow dormer. The property features three gable-end stacks and one cross-axial stack. The front entrance has a plank door. Internally, there are two cruck trusses.
