Description

No. 6 School Lane in Formby is a former schoolhouse, now a restaurant, built in 1785. The building is constructed of brick and features a 20th-century reconstituted stone slate roof. It is a single storey with three bays, including a gabled extension at the first bay. There is a porch with a lean-to roof situated between the second and third bays. The windows have segmental heads and small-paned casements. At the rear, there is an extension, and the building has a cross-axial stack. Inside, there are two crude fish-bone trusses with through purlins supported by triangular buttresses.
