Description

Box Cottage is an 18th-century house located on the east side of Whistley Road, Potterne. The front facade is constructed of chequered brick, with rubble stone at each end. It features a thatched half-hipped roof and two stacks, one on the north end and one at the rear. The house is double-fronted with a layout of one-and-a-half storeys; it has two casement windows on each floor. The upper windows are positioned under eyebrow projections. A central doorway, with a cambered head and a six-panel door, is topped by a timber pedimental hood supported by brackets. A timber-clad addition with a tiled roof has been added to the left end of the building.
