Description

No. 48 Upper Parliament Street is a house dated 1825, as indicated on the rainwater head. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and a basement, with three bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with vertical glazing bars. The central entrance is round-headed and has an Ionic doorcase, although the columns are missing as of 1984. It includes a complete fanlight and an eight-panel door, along with a 20th-century glazed canopy. There are plain iron railings surrounding the area and steps.
