Description

No. 161 Chatham Street is a house built in the 1820s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a basement and features three bays. There is a sill band on the first floor, along with a cornice and blocking course at the top. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows, with glazing bars on the first-floor windows. The central entrance is round-headed and has a doorcase that lacks columns, dating from 1984, along with a four-panel door and a complete fanlight. There are plain iron railings surrounding the area and steps leading up to the entrance.
