Description
162 and 164 Chatham Street are two houses built in the 1820s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house is three storeys tall with a basement and has three bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels, and each house has one blind window on the second floor. The entrances are round-headed and have Doric doorcases with fluted columns and six-panel doors. There are plain iron railings to the areas and steps. No. 162 has small-paned casements, while No. 164 has sash windows with glazing bars and a complete fanlight.
