Description
Nos 156, 158, and 160 on Chatham Street are three houses built in the 1820s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house is three storeys tall with a basement and has three bays. The design includes a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows with glazing bars, although each house has one blind window on the second floor. The round-headed entrances are adorned with Doric columns, complete fanlights, and six-panel doors. There are plain iron railings for the areas and steps. Notably, No 160 has small-paned casements.
