Description
166 and 168 Chatham Street are two houses built in the 1820s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and two bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows feature wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The round-headed entrances have panelled doorcases, plastered arches, and six-panel doors. There are plain iron railings to the areas and steps. Notably, No. 168 has a complete fanlight.
