Description
No. 42 Upper Parliament Street is a house built in the 1820s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys, a basement, and three bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a cornice at the top. The windows have wedge lintels, with a mix of sash and casement styles. The central entrance is round-headed and includes a doorcase that originally had columns, which are now missing (since 1984), along with a six-panel door. To the right, there is a low extension behind a ramped screen wall, which has an entrance with a brick flat arch.
