Description

No 256 East Prescot Road is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and features three bays. It has a stone base and a top cornice. The windows are fitted with wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The central entrance is round-headed and has a Doric doorcase, complete with a fanlight and a six-panel door. On the left-hand return side facing Thomas Lane, there is a doorway and two sash windows on each floor, although one window is now blocked. At the rear, there is an outshut that includes a sliding sash window and a catslide roof.
