Description

The Nelson Monument is an obelisk built around 1805 in memory of Lord Nelson. It features a stone base with recessed panels, although the plaques have been removed. There is a cornice above the base, and it is surrounded by a low wall, with the railings also removed. Originally intended for Exchange Flags, the monument was rejected and instead placed in a private garden, which is now a public park.
