Description
This building, located at 75-79 Bold Street, dates from the 1830s and is designed as a row of shops. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys tall with five bays. The ground floor features three shop fronts, each framed by unfluted Doric columns positioned between panelled pilasters, topped with a pulvinated frieze and a modillioned cornice.
On the second floor, there is a sill band, a top entablature, and a blocking course. The central bay is highlighted by a giant applied Ionic portico with a distyle-in-antis design, and tripartite windows set within architraves. The first-floor window in this bay has a consoled entablature. The windows in the flanking bays are similar in style. All windows are sash with glazing bars, except for No. 75, which features 20th-century casements. The end bays are flanked by coupled flat pilasters, each topped with pediments. The first-floor windows have architraves with recessed panels above them. The building also has three panelled stacks.
